Ironshore Global Property said Tuesday it will expand its builders’ risk coverage to include wood frame commercial construction projects in the U.S. and Canada.
The policy will provide protection against property risks of large scale, commercial wood frame structures during the construction. Sector specific projects can include health care facilities, hotels and resorts, retail developments and residential buildings, Ironshore said in a statement.
Tony Mammolite, president, Ironshore Global Property, said in the statement that the introduction of the builders’ risk enhancement “allows Ironshore to offer commercial builders the ability to secure comprehensive property protection within this specialty sector, thereby meeting the demand evidenced by heightened commercial wood frame construction activity throughout North America.”
Ironshore International said Monday it plans to expand in selected European markets by opening Ironshore Agency Ltd. a European hub branch office in Cologne, Germany, with additional agency branch offices being launched in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and Zurich by the end of 2015.
