Former Catlin executive Nick Sinfield will lead Tokio Marine Kiln Group Ltd. as group head of claims, the London-based insurer announced.
Mr. Sinfield replaces Duncan MacKenzie, who has retired, a spokesman for the firm said Tuesday.
London-based Mr. Sinfield was previously CEO for Catlin Underwriting Agencies Ltd. and Catlin Insurance Co. U.K. Ltd., Tokio Marine Kiln said in a statement.
Prior to that, he was group and U.K. claims director at Catlin Group Ltd. for nine years, according to the statement.
At Tokio Marine Kiln, he will be responsible for developing and leading the claims strategy, the firm said.
“Nick’s extensive experience will be invaluable as TMK builds on its customer proposition, and I look forward to working with him to continue the great progress we have made in what is one of the most critical functions in the business,” Charles Franks, Group CEO of Tokio Marine Kiln, said in the statement.
The reinsurance operations of the combined XL Catlin will be led by Charles Cooper in Bermuda, Jonathan Gale in London and John Welch in North America once the companies merge later this year, Business Insurance has learned.
