Port congestion in Singapore highlights global shipping disruptions

The logjam at Singapore’s container port is at its worst since the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the significant ripple effects of prolonged vessel re-routing to avoid Red Sea attacks on cargo ships, Hellenic Shipping News Worldwide reported. Shipping bottlenecks are also appearing in other crucial ports in Asia and Europe. Maritime data firm Linerlytica said that global port congestion has reached an 18-month high, with 60% of ships waiting at anchor located in Asia.
