CBO: permanent ACA subsidies could add $335B to national deficit

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that making the expanded Affordable Care Act subsidies permanent would add $335 billion to the national deficit between 2025 and 2034, Becker's Payer Issues reports. These subsidies, which have driven record enrollment in ACA marketplace plans since their implementation in 2021, are set to expire at the end of 2025 unless extended by Congress.
