BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited an Alabama tire shop after a mechanic was killed when a tractor tire exploded due to overinflation.

OSHA said Friday that Opp-based Neal Tindol Tire LLC allowed workers to inflate tires on single-piece rim wheels without using a required restraining device or barrier designed to protect against tire explosion.

The agency also cited the company for exposing employees to struck-by hazards and for failing to prevent workers from inflating tires above manufacturer-recommended maximum pressures.

OSHA proposed $14,511 in penalties in connection with the Jan. 18 incident. The company has 15 days to contest the citations and fines.
