Gallagher buys Australian broker

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. Inc. said Monday it has acquired Mavco Insurance Group Australia Pty Ltd., a brokerage based in Perth, Australia.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Mavco specializes in coverage for the construction, engineering, mining, health and financial services industries.
Directors Jonathan Winter, Daniel Waters and Stephen Hughes; Rodney Aylmore, senior associate; and about 10 employees will relocate to Gallagher’s Perth and Adelaide offices under the direction of Sarah Lyons, head of retail property/casualty brokerage operations for Gallagher in Australia.
