Oil refinery’s contractors seek $1.65 billion in damages for delays

Contractors of the $15 billion Al-Zour oil refinery in Kuwait are seeking more than 500 million Kuwaiti dinars ($1.65 billion) in damages from the state-owned Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Co. for shelving work on the refinery, Zawya reported citing Alrai. The contractors are demanding compensation for the losses incurred by them due to delays in the project’s execution amid COVID-19 related restrictions.
