Hyundai recalls 17,000 Tucson SUVs in Australia

South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Co. is recalling 17,000 of its Tucson SUVs in Australia over concerns that the vehicle's bonnet can fly open and block the driver's view without warning, reported News.com.au.

The recall affects almost every one of the Tucson SUVs imported into Australia since the new model went on sale 12 months ago.

Hyundai said that it issued the recall as a precautionary measure after an incident in New Zealand and that it will fix the bonnet latch free of charge.
