BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Pembroke, Bermuda-based Axis Capital Holdings Ltd. said Matt LoPiccolo has joined Axis Insurance Co. as U.S. distribution manager.

Mr. LoPiccolo has nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry and joins Axis Insurance after nine and a half years at American International Group Inc., where he was most recently the senior vice president of client and broker engagement for AIG’s global commercial insurance business, Axis said Thursday in a statement.

He previously held sales and management positions of increasing responsibility within AIG’s U.S. commercial insurance operations.

Mr. LoPiccolo, who will be based in New York, will report directly to Edward Ashby, head of distribution for Axis Insurance.

“Over the last few years, Axis has invested heavily in its distribution operations in an effort to keep up with the increased use of data and analytics by both brokers and carriers,” Mr. Ashby said in the statement. “The appointment of Matt, with his experience and knowledge of the market, will allow us to foster deeper, stronger and more relevant relationships with our distribution partners.”

Prior to joining AIG, he spent 10 years in the insurance brokerage community where he held various positions within Marsh & McLennan Cos. Inc.’s environmental practice and was the director of environmental risk management for Thomas Rutherfoord Inc.
