Oman's Capital Market Authority said that gross direct takaful insurance premiums boomed 64% to 39 million Omani rials ($101 million) in the nation in 2015, Times of Oman reported.

Takaful accounted for around 9% of Oman's insurance industry's direct premium income of OMR442 million and 5% of total paid claims. Two takaful insurers operate in Oman - Al Madina Insurance Co. S.A.O.G. and Takaful Oman Insurance S.A.O.G.
