A recent report by Aon Benfield's risk analytics unit Impact Forecasting L.L.C. has said that April saw the highest level of global natural disaster losses for that month in five years, reported Artemis.bm.
The report estimated insured losses from Japan earthquakes and a spate of U.S. storms at more than $2 billion and $3 billion, respectively. The 7.8-magnitude quake in Ecuador is likely to result in economic loss of more than $3 billion, said the report.
