Nicolas Aubert on Monday succeeded Steve Hearn as chair of the London Market Group.
Mr. Aubert, head of Great Britain for Willis Towers Watson P.L.C., will serve a one-year term as chair, said a spokeswoman for the London Market Group in an email. Mr. Hearn, CEO of Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd., had served as chair for two years.
“The London Market growth and modernization agenda has gathered real momentum over the last year, with each of our four workstreams making good progress against their stated aims,” said Mr. Hearn in a statement announcing the appointment. “We have recognized the challenges we face and have a plan to help counter them.”
The London Market Group represents insurers, reinsurers and brokers in the Lloyd's of London and London company insurance market.
Fitch Ratings Inc. said the continued softness of insurance and reinsurance pricing will affect the profitability of London market insurers and reinsurers, but most will remain in the black even if claims levels return to normal levels, reports Artemis.bm.
