BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

Onsite disability management targets faster recovery, smoother return to work

Unum Group said on Wednesday that it will offer onsite disability management for customers who want their employees to benefit from one-to-one engagement with a trained disability consultant before and after disability leave.

Unum is a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based provider of employee benefits and a provider of disability insurance coverage for U.S. employees, Unum said in a statement.

This onsite professional help from nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and ergonomists aims to help employees stay at work or transition back to work after a leave. The leave professionals will coach employees on ways to avoid a disabling event. They will meet with employees before a planned leave to set expectations, provide early guidance on return to work, and offer support during leave, according to a statement.

“Keeping employees healthy and engaged at work is our focus,” Randy Ford, vice president with Unum's national client group said in the statement. “We know that every day of absence you can prevent, a company will gain productivity. For employees, conversations that begin early and continue throughout a disability may help speed recovery and smooth the way for a return to work.”
