Argo Group International Holdings Ltd. has named New York-based Craig Landi as president of Argo Pro U.S.
Mr. Landi will be responsible for leading all aspects of Argo Group’s U.S. professional lines business, which includes a broad portfolio of errors and omissions and management liability products sold through appointed retail and wholesale brokers, Argo Group said Monday in a statement.
Previously, Mr. Landi was president and chief operating officer at New York-based Freedom Specialty Insurance Co.
“As an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience, Craig has demonstrated his ability is to develop and manage all the specialized operations required to build, grow, and maintain an exceptional professional lines insurance business,” Steve McGill, London-based group head of professional lines said in a statement. “His efforts will help us take Argo Pro to the next level of client service, growth and innovation in the marketplace.”
Mark Watson, CEO of Bermudan insurer and reinsurer Argo Group International Holdings Ltd., has said that although property catastrophe reinsurance pricing has declined steeply, the current prices are still attractive for reinsurers and better than insurance on a risk adjusted basis, Artemis.bm reports.
