There is still a vast amount of capacity for the reinsurance market to grow in Asia according new Fitch Ratings Ltd., reports Artemis.bm.
The reinsurance market in Asia has the potential for robust growth as demand for reinsurance coverage increases in the region, in addition to the gap between actual and insured losses from natural catastrophes, said the rating agency. Only about 10% of total economic losses in Asia in 2014 were insured, said Fitch citing data from Swiss Re Ltd.'s Sigma unit.
