Cooper Gay Swett & Crawford Ltd. has appointed Ulisses Soares as CEO for the Latin America region, the London-based broker announced Monday.
Mr. Soares replaces Steve Jackson, who steps down after 15 years as CEO for Latin America to become regional commercial officer, Cooper Gay said in a statement.
Based in Miami, Mr. Soares will report to Shaun Hooper, Cooper Gay's CEO of international operations, Cooper Gay said.
Mr. Soares joined Cooper Gay in 2014 as chief operating officer for Latin America, and prior to that, he was head of Latin America at Starr Cos., according to the statement.
“Ulisses' experience in the Latin American (re)insurance industry, together with his focused and structured approach to ensuring customer satisfaction, make him a natural selection as our next chief executive,” Mr. Hooper said in the statement.
Companies in Latin America are turning their attention to the water crisis threatening the region, according to a recent survey, reported BNamericas.
