BI’s Article search uses Boolean search capabilities. If you are not familiar with these principles, here are some quick tips.

To search specifically for more than one word, put the search term in quotation marks. For example, “workers compensation”. This will limit your search to that combination of words.

To search for a combination of terms, use quotations and the & symbol. For example, “hurricane” & “loss”.

NAS offers coverage for Ebola-related business closures

NAS Insurance Services Inc. is offering a new insurance program for businesses facing the possibility of government-mandated closure because of the presence of Ebola, the Encino, California-based specialty insurance underwriting manager announced.

In conjunction with Prospect Insurance Brokers Ltd. and Ark Specialty Programs of Lloyd’s of London, NAS will offer regulatory business interruption Ebola coverage, as businesses that have a staff member, visitor, client or patient test positive for Ebola could be forced to close by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention or another regulatory authority, NAS CEO Richard Robin said Tuesday in a statement.

The program currently has a $1 million limit for 30 days of coverage, but NAS is open to considering higher limits, a company spokesman said Friday.

“The direct and indirect costs of this are not covered by any current insurance, and the business could suffer a severe uninsured loss and even face bankruptcy if they are not allowed to reopen,” Mr. Robin said in the statement.
